Pin Bag Care

The faux leather exterior of the monorail bag can be gently cleaned with a cloth and soapy water, and then dried with another cloth. You may also search “faux leather cleaner” online for product options for something stronger than soap.

For the clear windows, I recommend this tip taken from @PinnyPlanet: if the windows become foggy due to temperature changes and/or getting dirty, heat the plastic briefly with a warm hair dryer before cleaning with a cloth and soapy water, then dry with another cloth.

I recommend using a cordless vacuum or ”dust buster” for cleaning out crumbs, dirt, etc from the inside of the bag if needed.

If you plan to store the bag or not use it for a long period of time, I highly recommend stuffing it with something like paper or a towel so it keeps its shape. If it gets squashed, stuffing it with one of these materials and then gently warming it with a hair dry can help recover its shape.

PLEASE REMEMBER that as this bag is white, you will want to treat it with extra care to avoid marks and stains.

Please see the below example of how I accidentally stained my sample bag and recovered it:

I not-so-wisely wore this bag out for a day while wearing cheap black leggings that I already knew tended to transfer their dye on contact. This resulted in a noticeable mark on the back corner where the bag rubbed my leg while I walked throughout the day, which you can see in Photo 1.

I used some rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean as much of the stain off as I could. (PLEASE NOTE that alcohol is not generally recommended as it can affect the finish of the faux leather but I chose to do so since this stain was prominent.) You can see in Photo 2 that this made a big difference, and no noticeable degradation to the faux leather occurred.

I found that the mark was still a little visible in the right lighting, so later when I knew the bag was totally dry from the alcohol cleaning, I applied white “scuff cover” shoe polish to the area in a few applications, ensuring it dried in between each. And as you can see from Photo 3, it looks MUCH better than how the stain started.
